Transforming Data into Strategic Decisions | Data Governance & Institutional Effectiveness Leader | $5.1M+ in Secured Grant Funding
With over three decades of higher education leadership, As the Chief Data Storyteller (CDS), I specialize in turning complex data challenges into strategic opportunities that drive institutional success. Currently serving as Data Management Officer for Sul Ross State University and the Lamar State 2 year Colleges, I partner with campus leaders to implement data governance frameworks that inform smarter decision-making.
My career has been defined by measurable impact: leading a SACSCOC Decennial reaffirmation with zero recommendations, securing over $5.1 million in competitive grants, and leading the successful implementation of separate SACSCOC Institutional Accreditation allowing separate Title IV funding for Lamar Institute of Technology. I've managed enterprise-level system implementations including Banner/SIS+, Hobson’s Starfish At-Risk Student System, Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT, and Xitracs Suite, serving as both project sponsor, manager, and functional lead.
What I Bring to the Table: Data governance strategy and implementation across multi-campus systems SACSCOC accreditation expertise with proven results Grant development and workforce program funding Strategic planning and institutional effectiveness frameworks Technical project management for complex ERP systems. As a SACSCOC Onsite Visiting Committee Member and former Vice President for Strategic Initiatives, I understand both the operational and strategic sides of higher education. I'm passionate about leveraging data to solve real problems—whether that's improving student success, optimizing resources, or advancing institutional goals. I'm committed to staying at the forefront of data-driven decision making in higher education.
