I am a  successful and dedicated registered nurse with 40 years of nursing experience. I performed professional nursing work including medical-surgical nursing, critical care nursing, emergency nursing, post-anesthesia nursing, nursing home care, home health nursing, nursing leadership, and nursing educator.  I also participated in community CPR, ACLS, and PALS education.  I was a regional faculty of the American Heart Association.  My objective is to contribute to the delivery of quality and safe patient care and to teach licensed nurses and student nurses to practice effectively and safely in the nursing field.  My special interest at the present time is in nursing leadership, quality improvement programs, and nursing education.  I am presently working as a full-time Quality Director of Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center.

 

I am adjunct faculty in the Sul Ross department of nursing since  June 1, 2015. I design and deliver class instructions to meet course outcomes. I  develop activities that support lesson objectives. I promote student success by showing flexibility in style. I have a passion for teaching and engaging students in the learning process.

I am presently an Associate Degree Nursing (ADN) adjunct faculty at Southwest Texas Junior College since Oct. 1,  2012. I taught Healthcare concepts and Professional concepts.  I had worked closely with the directors of the nursing department to achieve great student outcomes. I am knowledgeable in best practices in teaching, assessment, and student engagement including online learning.
