Nate Smith is a full-time faculty member in Counselor Education at Sul Ross State University. He teaches a broad range of courses in the graduate counseling program. He serves as the Clinical Mental Health Program Coordinator and advisor to graduate students seeking LPC licensure. Nate’s scholarly interests focus on LGBTQIA issues in counseling and his research focuses on internalized homophobia. He maintains an active schedule of speaking and training. 

 

He is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. Nate holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music and a Master of Science in Counseling from the University of Wyoming. He holds a Ph.D. in Counselor Education from Texas Tech University.
