I have been an educator for 40 years with experience as an art teacher K-8, as a assistant high school principal, as a high school principal, and as a superintendent in the Missouri public school system. After I retired, I continued to work in education as a subject matter expert for courses for two different master degree programs. I have also served as an assistant professor for online programs in educational leadership for various universities. I am passionate about the arts and continue efforts to realize some personal artistic goals. I am a wife, mother, and grandmother and relish every moment I can spend with my family.
My days are full and filled with purpose as I do not believe in wasting time. We are all familiar with Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 and specifically the passage which reads, "To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven". The point of the verse, to some, is morbid; signaling an ending. While I understand that perpsective, I interpret the verse differently. I believe it is a warning to not waste our time, to use each day as fully as we can, and fill each moment with purpose which is what I strive to do each and every day. At the end of the day, regardless of how small an achievement may seem, you will have at least achieved something. That's a good day.
