MTH 2310 Foundations of Elementary Mathematics I (3-0). First course in required mathematics content sequence for preservice elementary and middle school teachers. Topics include problem-solving techniques, reasoning, study of sets, systems of numeration, natural numbers, integers, number theory and rational numbers. Emphasis on problem-solving as a pedagogical tool with integration of manipulative-based explorations. Offered fall.
