KINE 3391 Sociology of Sport (3-0). An introduction to social issues in sport, exercise, and physical activity. The course examines the dynamic relationship between society, culture, and sport. It highlights how we assign sports meaning, integrate them into life, and create policies for them. Specific topics include youth sports, deviance culture, violence, gender, race, ethnicity, social class, ability, economics, media, and politics all in the context of sport.
