Dr. Isa K. Karasioglu is a cultural anthropologist who earned his degree from Columbia University in the City of New York. He holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the Department of Security Studies at the Turkish National Police Academy.
During his doctoral studies at Columbia University, he conducted ethnographic field research in Nardaran, an Azeri village on the Absheron Peninsula. His focus was on the conflict between the villagers and the Azerbaijani government, investigating the long-lasting uprisings, bloody incidents, and demonstrations that occurred between 2002 and 2015.
