Cindi Meche brings more than 15 years of experience in marketing, communications, and digital media to her role as Communications Coordinator at the Borderlands Research Institute. She most recently served as Marketing and Communications Manager at the University of New Mexico, where she led multichannel outreach campaigns that boosted enrollment, strengthened brand alignment, and significantly increased social media engagement. Earlier roles at UNM included Senior Digital Marketer and Senior Marketing Representative, where she developed expertise in data-driven strategy, analytics, and collaborative storytelling. 

 

Her career began in web and digital design, with positions at Commit Developers, Stuller Inc., and One Acadiana in Louisiana. Over time, she advanced from web designer to digital experience manager to creative services manager, honing her skills in brand development, content creation, and project management. She has supervised creative teams, launched new digital platforms, and produced compelling narratives and visuals to connect with diverse audiences across nonprofit, higher education, and corporate sectors. 

 

Cindi earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Interactive Media Design from the Art Institute of California–San Diego and recently completed her Executive MBA from the Quantic School of Business and Technology, where she focused on strategic leadership and business communications. She also holds a Digital Marketing Science certification from the University of New Mexico, along with numerous professional certificates in analytics, fundraising, and project management. 

 

Cindi is excited to have moved to West Texas to be closer to family in Fort Davis and apply her professional expertise to conservation-focused communications.
