Dr. Michel Torres is an Assistant Professor of Education at Sul Ross State University International with experience spanning K–12 teaching, campus administration, and educational leadership. A first-generation college graduate with roots in the South Texas border region, her teaching and scholarship focus on teacher preparation, educational leadership, culturally responsive education, and the experiences of Latina women navigating leadership and motherhood.
Dr. Torres is also an author and the founder of Latina Mami Leaders, a platform dedicated to empowering women who lead with corazón in their homes, careers, and communities. As a wife and mother, she brings both her professional and lived experiences to her work and is passionate about preparing educators to serve students, families, and communities with knowledge, compassion, and corazón.
