EDUA 8301
EDUA 8301 Trends in Rural and Borderland Community Contexts (3-0). This course investigates the critical issues, historical developments, and contemporary trends affecting rural and borderland communities. The course will define and differentiate between the concepts of "rurality" and "borderlands," moving beyond simple geographic boundaries to explore them as distinct social, economic, and cultural spaces. By comparing and contrasting case studies from various global and national border regions-with a particular focus on the U.S.-Mexico borderlands-students will gain a nuanced understanding of how these communities are impacted by both internal dynamics and external forces.
