Hello,

My name is Kevin Watts, and I am an adjunct instructor in the Department of Criminal Justice and Homeland Security. I have been in the law enforcement field for more than 23 years and I am currently assigned to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Office of Inspector General (OIG) as an Assistant Special Agent in Charge (ASAC). My team supports OIG’s mission by investigating a wide variety of criminal, civil, and administrative violations in Colorado, Montana, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, and Alaska. I also assist field operations by providing instructional support and guidance to other field agents. For example, as a Certified Technical Investigator (CTI), firearms/non-lethal training ammunition instructor, and certified force science analyst, I regularly assist with curriculum development, law enforcement training, and mentoring for newly hired criminal investigators.

In 2018, I began assisting the Inspector General Criminal Investigator Academy (IGCIA) at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) as an adjunct instructor. In my free time, I teach wide range of criminal justice & emergency service administration courses at various academic institutions. I have a Bachelor of Applied Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Master of Science in Criminology.
