Marilyn was born in Washington, DC and grew up in the nearby suburb of Rockville, Maryland. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland and of University College. After 40 years on the east coast, it was time for a change, so Marilyn took a vacation to Big Bend National Park. She stopped for lunch in Fort Davis and bought a house. She has worked at Sul Ross State University since 2001 and her first position was Assistant to the President, working for Dr. Vic Morgan. Since that time, she has held positions in the Office of Sponsored Programs, the Office of the Provost and the College of Graduate Studies. Currently, she enjoys reviewing theses for the College of Graduate Studies and appreciates the effort each student puts into developing a well written research essay about a topic they care deeply about. In her ‘free’ time, Marilyn rescues and transports animals, mostly dogs and cats, but occasionally rabbits, pot-belly pigs, donkeys, chickens and geese.
