Marilyn Mcghee

Graduate Studies Retention & Thesis Coordinator

BAB 308 | 432 837 8511 | mmcghee@sulross.edu

Marilyn was born in Washington, DC and grew up in the nearby suburb of Rockville, Maryland. She is a graduate of the University of Maryland and of University College. After 40 years on the east coast, it was time for a change, so Marilyn took a vacation to Big Bend National Park. She stopped for lunch in Fort Davis and bought a house. She has worked at Sul Ross State University since 2001 and her first position was Assistant to the President, working for Dr. Vic Morgan. Since that time, she has held positions in the Office of Sponsored Programs, the Office of the Provost and the College of Graduate Studies. Currently, she enjoys reviewing theses for the College of Graduate Studies and appreciates the effort each student puts into developing a well written research essay about a topic they care deeply about. In her ‘free’ time, Marilyn rescues and transports animals, mostly dogs and cats, but occasionally rabbits, pot-belly pigs, donkeys, chickens and geese.

Gil Grabow

Graduate Student Support Coordinator and Administrator

BAB 312 | 432 837 8023 | Gil.Grabow@sulross.edu

Education: •Wichita Falls High School, (where I grew up) Senior, 1987 •Midwestern State University, in 1987-88, and in 2010-2013 •Austin Community College, 1988-1989 •United States Marine Corps (yes, it was educational) 1990-94 •University of Texas, Austin, 1994-97, English and Business •University of Leiden, Netherlands, as part of UT Study Abroad •Sul Ross State University, Alpine, 2015-present. Finally, a degree Mom!
I am 56, unmarried, and have no kids. Somehow in all my years of travel and adventure I shied away from all that. I truly have no idea how most of you are able to have a career, a spouse (and seemingly happy children), and still find a way to continue on with your education at a master’s level. I applaud you all, especially the elementary level teachers. My mean is 7-8 grade math and science. The little ones cry too much for me, but I really enjoy working with college-level students as they are a bit more serious.

Lindsay Coleman-Miranda

Coordinator

BAB 210 | 432 837 8960 | lkc21lj@sulross.edu

Lindsay was born and raised in San Antonio, TX where she met her husband, Marc, and have 4 children: Angel, Isaiah, Mateo, and Ella. Her family moved to Alpine in 2007 and she started her journey working at Sul Ross State University, only staying 2 years. She ventured into the private sector and worked for a real estate agency for 10+ years. She returned to Sul Ross State University in 2021. Since 2008, Lindsay has worked in the Biology Department, Physical Education/Athletics Department, Student Support Services, and her current position in Research & Sponsored Programs. She is a huge fan of her granddaughter, Maylee, and goes to all her sporting events and shouts louder and prouder than any other… oh… she is also an avid, ride-or-die, Dallas Cowboys fan for life- don’t judge.
