What do I need to apply?

A bachelor’s degree or higher with any major from an accredited university, and to submit an application through Apply Texas.

The GRE is not required for application, and admissions decisions can be made in as little as a few weeks.

How much does the program cost?

To complete the entire 30-unit Master of Science in Public Health Sciences costs less than $8,000, all fees included.

Are financial aid, scholarships, or internships available?

Yes, financial aid information can be found here. Scholarship information is available here. Additionally, internships are an integral part of the public health degree program, and take place in the third term of the program.

Can I enroll part-time?

Yes, you have the option to customize your degree program in whatever way is necessary to meet your educational, career, and personal goals through full-time or part-time enrollment to any level.

Do I have to start the program in the Fall?

No, as of Fall 2026, you can begin your degree program in the Fall, the Spring, or the Summer. Contact Us to find out how.

What classes would I be taking as a part of the program?

All of our foundational courses can be discovered here.

How will I get a job after graduation?

All of our students participate in a professional development seminar series provided in collaboration with the Sul Ross Career’s Office. This includes resume development, mock interviews, professional network building, and placement services.

Will I have research opportunities as a student?

Yes, all our master’s students serve as Principal Investigator of their own research projects as a part of the master’s thesis process. This comes with the opportunity to be first author on their own publications at graduation. Additionally, our faculty frequently invite MS students to work with them on various projects.

Is there a chance to study abroad or engage in global learning experience?

Yes, our Global Health Scholars program teaches global and planetary health through an immersive experience in Costa Rica. The program is available annually in May and is first-come first-served. Contact us for more information.
