ACCA 5301   Accounting Basics   ACCA 5301 Accounting Basics (3-0). This is a leveling course for the MBA Program to prepare students for ACCA\ACCR 5307 Accounting for Managers. Students will learn the basic concepts and principles of accounting along with their application in transaction analysis; financial statement preparation; analysis of financial statements; along with asset and equity accounting in proprietorships, partnerships, and corporations. Introduction to cost behavior, budgeting responsibility, accounting cost control, and production costing. Credit will not be awarded if the student has already taken ACCA 2301, ACCA 2302 and ACCA 3332 or their equilvalent.

ACCA 5307   Accounting for Management   ACCA 5307 Accounting for Management (3-0). This course encompasses the study of accounting as related to problems of making business decisions. Readings, cases and problems dealing with accounting concepts; budgeting and cost control, use of accounting data in planning operation and policy formulation.

FINA 5302   Intro to Economics & Finance   FINA 5302 Introduction to Economics and Finance (3-0). This is a leveling course for the MBA Program to prepare students for FINA\FINR 5306. Students will learn the basic principles of economics with a focus on their application to business and finance. The course will cover money and capital markets along with a broad view of the entire financial field with special emphasis on discounted cash flow analysis, stock and bond valuation models, financial statement analysis, capital budgeting, cost of capital, and working capital management. Credit will not be awarded if the student has already taken ECOA 2301, ECONA 2302 and FINA\FINR 3340 or their equivalent.  
FINA 5316   Risk Management & Assurance   FINA 5316 Risk Management and Assurance (3-0). Students will learn how to manage business risk and assurance through a study of corporate governance, risk assurance, enterprise risk management, fraud auditing, and IT auditing with an emphasis on evaluating the strategic risks facing organizations.

MGTA 5312   International Business   MGTA 5312 International Business (3-0). This course provides a comprehensive approach to better understand the dynamic pace of global business; competition across the globe; and some of the most critical nuances of the global marketplace. Ideally, emphasis is placed on the development of strategies and programs in international environments flowing from the determination of objectives and methods of organization to the actual execution of these programs. At a minimum, a much more in-depth understanding of the international business threats and opportunities in the 21st century is a critical element of the course. Equivalent courses: MGT 5312 (through Summer 2022).

This course provides a comprehensive overview of management in today?s post-pandemic world, including leading, planning, organizing, and controlling approaches that successful managers must have. It introduces specialized management functions, such as human resource management and entrepreneurship, while also delving into behavioral areas such as motivation and successful team performance.  
MGTA 5317   Marketing Leadership & Innovtn   MGTA 5317 Marketing Leadership and Innovation (3-0). This class combines the fields of marketing and innovation management. Students will learn the art of persuasion and market creation including brand creation, management, and creating meaningful customer experiences. Students will explore connections between technology innovation, supply chain management, and marketing strategy to ensure business success, regardless of the industry.  
MGTA 5321   Management Strategy   MGTA 5321 Management Strategy (3-0). This course equips students with the strategic thinking and decision-making stills necessary for leading organizations in competitive and dynamic environments. Through real-world case studies, industry insights, and analytical frameworks, students will explore key concepts such as competitive advantage, corporate strategy, business model innovation, and strategic execution. Students will engage in strategic simulations, collaborative projects, and executive-level decision-making exercises to refine their leadership capabilities. By the end of the course, students will be able to formulate, implement, and adapt strategies that align with business goals while navigating uncertainty and change.  
MISA 5310   IT Stratgy & Global Governance   MISA 5310 IT Strategy and Global Governance (3-0). Students will learn how to design methods and frameworks to develop a comprehensive IT strategic plan that will align with the corporate strategic plan. Students will also learn how to design and develop the organizational governance model to support the implementation of the IT Strategic Plan.

This course will provide an overview of space commerce from the first commercial satellites in the 1960's to today's expanding space economy. Future business models for the utilization of space resources, lunar industrialization, and building communities in space will be discussed from the perspective of economics, marketing and finance.  
SCOA 5302   Oppty in the Space Economy   SCOA 5302 Opportunities in the Space Economy (3-0). Students will learn about emerging space commerce opportunities, challenges and trends. May be repeated once for credit as topics change.
