The Common Data Set represents an effort by the higher education community to provide the general public and publishers with data in a consistent and common format across universities and colleges. Information in the Common Data Set includes contact information on enrollment, admissions, academic offerings, student life, estimated annual expenses, financial aid, and more.

Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB):

  • Texas Accountability System
    • The Accountability System provides detailed data on the state of higher education in Texas and tracks performance on critical measures. It is organized around the goals and targets of the state’s strategic plan.

  • THECB Higher Education Almanac
    • A profile of state and institutional performance and characteristics for Texas public postsecondary institutions.
  • Texas Workforce Commission CREWS
    • The Texas Consumer Resource for Education and Workforce Statistics (Texas CREWS) is an interactive dashboard tool providing comparative information about Texas public 2-year and 4-year postsecondary institutions.

  • College Navigator
    • College Navigator is your direct link to nearly 7,000 colleges and universities in the United States. If you are thinking about a large university, a small liberal arts college, a specialized college, a community college, a career or technical college or a trade school, you can find information on all of them here.
  • College Results Online
    • College Results Online (CRO) is an interactive, user-friendly Web tool designed to provide policymakers, counselors, parents, students, and others with information about college graduation rates for nearly any four-year college or university in the country.
  • IPEDS Data Center
    • The IPEDS Data Center is your “one-stop-shop” for the retrieval and analysis of data on colleges and universities. Use it to access and evaluate the institutional-level data collected in the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS). The Data Center includes a wide-range of functional options, including the ability to compare institutions side-by-side, construct customized data sets, download full data files, and create different statistical summaries and trend reports. It also serves as an entry point to the IPEDS Executive Peer Tool and Data Analysis System.
  • United States Census Bureau Post-Secondary Employment Outcomes Explorer (PSEO)
    • The Post-Secondary Employment Outcomes (PSEO) is an experimental data product from the US Census Bureau containing earnings outcomes and employment flows for recent graduates of partner colleges and universities.
  • Student Achievement Measure
    • SAM tracks student movement across postsecondary institutions to provide a more complete picture of undergraduate student progress and completion within the higher education system.
  • TPEIR
    • The Texas Public Education Information Resource (TPEIR) website provides reports and data on Texas educational topics and trends. These reports combine multiple data sources to produce useful information about Texas public school students from PK through college and into the workforce. Teacher certification and school district staff reports are also available.
