DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION

Students seeking teacher certification must pass a TExES content exam and also the Pedagogy and Professional Responsibilities exam, neither of which are easy; they also cost over $100 to attempt.

Students who are struggling with passing the exam should utilize the 240 Tutoring software or look to one-on-one or group tutoring.

Policy on 240 Tutoring Credit Availability

Students are eligible to receive one (1) free credit (30 days) for 240 Tutoring by completing this 240 Tutoring Credit request form. This complimentary credit is provided as a one-time support resource to assist students in their certification preparation.

After the use of one free credit, any additional subscription costs will be the responsibility of the student.

In certain circumstances, a candidate for certification may be able to apply for additional credits. This accommodation may be:

  • Limited to no more than two (2) additional credits
  • Limited to those who have shown consistent engagement in and use of the program
  • Generally limited to candidates in a more complicated preparation program with more range in actual testing requirements (e.g., EC-6).

To help reduce expenses, the University will provide students with a discount code that may be applied toward any further 240 Tutoring purchases. This discount code provides students with 50% off the total cost.
