Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of the Joint Council on Faculty Affairs Council are to receive and review tenure and promotion recommendations from the Tenure and Promotion Review Councils in Alpine and at MRGC and to transmit the recommendations to the Chief Academic Officer of the University. The Joint Council on Faculty Affairs may append comments to the recommendations transmitted to the Chief Academic Officer.

Schedule

The Joint Council on Faculty Affairs shall transmit the recommendations to the Chief Academic Officer by the Friday before Spring Break in March.

Membership

The Joint Council on Faculty Affairs is a standing joint council of the SRSU Faculty Governance Organizations. The Joint Council on Faculty Affairs is comprised of nine tenured faculty members with the rank of Professor from the Alpine and the Del Rio-Eagle Pass-Uvalde campuses. Two-thirds of the membership shall be from the Alpine campus and one-third from the Del Rio-Eagle Pass-Uvalde campuses. The membership of the Joint Council on Faculty Affairs shall be appointed by the presiding officers of the SRSU Faculty Governance Organizations.

Chair: The senior faculty member of the council committee shall chair the committee.
